Featured Employee: Kim, COA

In an effort to show appreciation to our AMAZING staff, we are happy to announce that we are starting a Featured Employee post every other week! This is a way that we can recognize some of our incredible staff for all the hard work that they do! This week we are recognizing Kim, a COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) at our Daytona location. Kim has been with us for almost 13 years and she is currently working on her COT (Certified Ophthalmic Technician) exam!

Kim says that the best thing about working at the Filutowski Eye Institute is that she has had so much room to learn and grow. During her time at FEI, Kim believes that the best thing she’s done is the switch to the clinical side. She says that it has taught her so much about the eye itself, as well as patient care. She loves meeting all the new patients and following their journey to their best vision. According to Kim, “It is so exciting to see their reactions at their 1-day post ops!” One thing Kim always looks forward to is seeing the growth within the company and the new equipment and procedures that we bring to FEI.

Some fun facts about Kim, her favorite food is pizza, she’s a cat lady, and she’s an avid member of the Jacksonville Roller Derby Team! Outside of work, she spends most of her time practicing with her team.

Thank you for all your hard work Kim, we are lucky to have you here!
